Summary
THIS study reports our experience of laparoscopy under local anaesthesia in 400 patients. The use of local anaesthesia meant the procedure was safe, quick and easy to perform with the minimal inconvenience to the patient. Laparoscopy proved an excellent investigation if disease was discovered but, as it only allows the surface inspection of viscera, we recommend caution in its interpretation when no abnormality was found.
