An efficient algorithm to calculate the least squares estimates of the parameters in the logistic growth function and the application of beale’s measures of non-linearity for this model

Summary

For a non-linear model, the logistic growth function, an efficient algorithm is derived to calculate the least squares estimates. With the help of Beale’s measures of non-linearity we can decide when the confidence regions of the parameters and the variance of the prediction function of the linear model can be used as an approximation for those of the non-linear model. Further it is shown that a parameter transformation is sometimes be helpful in those matters.
