Summary
Separation of two distinct clinical entities occurring in diabetes mellitus seems important. Mononeuritis multiplex occurs with a worsening of the diffuse neuropathy and seems unrelated to control. Multiple mononeuropathy is likely related to entrapment which requires specific therapy.
