Abstract
Phase transformations in ceramics of the ZrO2−Y2O3−Al2O3 system that occur in mechanical and heat treatment are considered. The effect of the surface purity on the phase composition is described. It is shown that a tetragonal-rhombohedral transformation occurs under stress applied to the treated surface.
