Stability of laminar flow of liquid in vertical layers with free convection

Abstract

We give the results of experimental and theoretical investigations of the stability of a laminar flow of liquid in a vertical layer. The experimental investigations qualitatively confirm the theoretical solutions and indicate the existence of various kinds of instability.
