This is an excerpt from the content

This is the second of two special issues of Ocean Dynamics presenting some of the recent results of the 14th International Biennial Conference on Physics of Estuaries and Coastal Seas (PECS 2008) held in Liverpool, England, UK, 15–29 August 2008. All the articles appearing in these two special issues of Ocean Dynamics have gone through a thorough peer review process as expected for any other article in the journal; we would like to take this opportunity to thank the referees for their reviews and useful comments which have helped to improve the end product. PECS is an independent organisation whose sole purpose is to organise the PECS biennial conferences.

  • To promote the exchange of information on recent developments ...
