Abstract

The cDNA clone encoding human UDP-N-acetyl-α-d-galactosamine:polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase-1 (GalNAc-T1) was isolated from colon tissue by a reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Using fluorescence in situ hybridization, the position of the GalNAc-T1 gene was shown to be localized at the human chromosomal region, 18q12.1.
