sequence data revealed that the putative intergeneric hybrid, Diplazium tomitaroanum Masam. belongs in Deparia, as also does Diplazium subsinuatum (Wall, ex Hook, et Grev.) Tagawa, one of the putative parents. An examination of rachis, scale and spore morphology, and chromosome data provide support for this placement. We propose a new taxonomic treatment of the two Diplazium species as Deparia.
