Type I hyperlipoproteinaemia

Two cases in an Asian family

Summary

Type 1 hyperlipoproteinaemia is a rare disorder of lipid metabolism. An Asian family with two affected sisters is reported. The parents and the other two children were possibly heterozygotes. Treatment with low fat diet resulted in clinical improvement.
