This article addresses difficult issues regarding the decision to have children for women with and without a disability. Specifically, the paper discusses the current trend toward prenatal screenings and abortions for women expected to be carrying fetuses that are “defective”. Societal attitudes regarding women with disabilities are discussed in light of the women's decision whether to have a child with a disability.
