Iron oxide formation in artificial ground waters

Abstract

Artificial ground water containing 40 mg/l Ca and varying concentrations of Fe(II), Fe(III) and Si were rapidly oxidized with air. The ferrihydrite forming is similar to those found in natural Finish ground waters.
