Summary

The influence of chlorpromazine (0.25–128 mg/l water) on the behavior ofCarassius carassius L. was tested with regard to 6 exactly distinguishable components of behavior over 24 h. The results were as following:

  1. 1.

The typical changes of the behavior appear in specific successions depending on the different doses.

  2. 2.

In spring the resistance to the drug is greater than in autumn.

  3. 3.

The effect of starvation is seen in an insignificant reduction of sensitivity to the drug.

  4. 4.

    The dosis letalis50 is approximately 2 mg/l.
