Abstract

A new technique for the management of long-gap oesophageal atresia maximises the use of existing upper and lower oesophageal pouches and maintains the oesophageal hiatus. It provides a good-calibre neo-oesophagus whilst maintaining the patients' own anti-reflux mechanisms. Two cases are reported in which this technique was successfully used.
