Particle identification in the LHCb experiment

  • Published:

Abstract

The present article describes the ring imaging Cherenkov (RICH) detectors of the LHCb experiment. The two RICH detectors of LHCb contain three radiators, carefully designed to provide particle identification of B meson decays in the relevant momentum range of the experiment. A status of the design of the RICH system will be presented with the expected overall performance.
