On a gauge theory of elementary interactions

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento (1955-1965)

Summary

A theory of strong as well as weak interactions is proposed using the idea of having only such interactions which arise from generalized gauge transformations.

Riassunto

Si propone una teoria delle interazioni sia forti che deboli nell’ipotesi di avere solo interazioni dovute a trasformazioni di gauge generalizzate.

  5. The theory of weak interactions recently proposed byGell-Mann andLévy (4) effectively proceeds by identifying the terms containingX μ only in (2) with the strangeness-conserving weak Lagrangian. The gauge-transformations giving rise toY μ fields are not considered.
