Summary

This paper deals with aBrucella infection in a laboratory worker and his wife. The diagnosis of brucellosis was proved by isolatingBrucella melitensis, biotype 2, from blood cultures and by the standard serum agglutination test. In the absence of any alternative epidemiologic information, the authors consider this case to be an example of interhuman infection.

Zusammenfassung

Die vorliegende Arbeit befaßt sich mit einerBrucella-Infektion bei einem Laborangestellten und seiner Ehefrau. Die Bruzellose wurde durch Isolation vonBrucella melitensis, Biotyp 2, aus Blutkulturen und durch den Standardagglutinationstest im Serum nachgewiesen. Da kein Anhalt für eine andere Infektionsquelle vorliegt. nehmen die Autoren in diesem Fall eine Infektion von Mensch zu Mensch an.
