Characteristics of phase formation in Angren deposit clays melted with a solar furnace

Abstract

The effect different methods of thermoprocessing have on mullite formation in different clay materials is examined. It is shown that a concentrated radiant flux lowers the temperature of mullite crystallization by 100–150°C, while correlations between features of mullite formation and different admixtures go unchanged.
