Abstract

Photocatalysts based on SBA-15 mesoporous silicate with supported ruthenium-doped cadmium sulfide particles of up to 10 nm size were synthesized and studied. The systems prepared are stable and exhibit high activity in photocatalytic hydrogen generation from aqueous electrolyte solutions. The apparent quantum efficiency of the reaction for the most active material (active phase 0.2Ru20CdS) was 10.9%. The catalyst showed high stability in eight reaction cycles.
