Theoretical and Experimental Study of Subsonic Gas Flow Around the Frontal Aerodynamic Screen After Separation from the ExoMars Vehicle Descending in the Atmosphere of the Planet

Abstract—The results of numerical and experimental determination of the aerodynamic characteristics of the frontal screen and analysis of the vortex structure of the flow in the bottom area and the near trace of the screen when it falls free at subsonic speed after separation from the main structure of the EXOMARS lander to the surface of the planet are presented.
