Abstract

The problem of calculating the direction of the braking impulse to bring the reusable returnable first stage of a launch vehicle into the desired landing region is considered. A mathematical model and a method for solving the problem are proposed, taking into account a number of features of the motion of the returnable stage in the Earth’s atmosphere, as well as the specifics of setting some design parameters. Examples of numerical calculations are given.
