Correction to: Canadian Journal of Science, Mathematics and Technology Education (2021) 21:475-492 https://doi.org/10.1007/s42330-021-00152-8

In the original online version of this article there was a misinterpretation of the “male plus female” STEM-ready data for graduates in the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) study, which were reported as a percentage (14.5% of females and 15.3% of males). Rather than adding the two figures for an answer of 29.8, an average of the two figures should have been calculated for an answer of 14.9% − rounded off to 15%.

Therefore, the following percentages have been corrected in the original article. 30% becomes 15%, and 70% becomes 85%.
