Manager-Untersuchungen ungeeignet.
Abstract
The determination of tumor markers in serum represents an essential component of the diagnostics, follow-up control and treatment monitoring of malignant tumors. The CA 125 is a marker that supplies valuable information in conjunction with ovarian cancer. It is characterized by a high sensitivity and specificity; however, due to the relatively low positive predictive value this tumor marker is not suitable for the screening of asymptomatic persons in the context of occupational health care or so-called manager investigations.
