Abstract
The sound velocities of longitudinal and transverse waves of LY12Al are measured under quasi-hydrostatic pressure in a six-side anvil cell using pulse echo overlap technique. From measured sound velocities, the calculated adiabatic bulk modulus is 76.32 GPa. The results are found to be higher than the data obtained under low hydrostatic pressure. The reasons for the differences are analyzed. Different sample assemblies are also considered.
