Justin Kalef seems to disagree, but his argument (pp. 95–96) that there may be cases in which one could derive an ‘ought’ from an ‘is’ fails, because it assumes that the ‘is’ includes hidden normative statements.
The only brief reference to this notion can be found in the chapter by Russell Blackford, who makes the peculiar remark that the notion of technoscience “carries too much theological baggage” (p. 27).
