On Filtration through a Cofferdam with a Screen

  • Published:
Power Technology and Engineering Aims and scope

A critical analysis of an analytic and numerical calculation of filtration through a cofferdam with imperfect (submerged) screen is presented. Computational dependences that present a high level of reliability (2 – 5%) for use in determining the characteristics of seepage in a cofferdam without a screen are presented, including the suction lift, discharge of water into suction zones and backwater of channel downstream, and the contour of the depression curve where there is water present in the channel downstream versus where there is no water present.
