The state of the superheater DI59-steel tubes with damage identified by a hydraulic test of the TPE-216M boiler at the Kharanor GRÉS before commissioning of the power unit is examined. It is shown that the damage is due to the improper heat treatment of the tubes by the manufacturer, which resulted in corrosion cracking because of the presence of strain-induced martensite and residual stresses. It is proposed to add the maximum permissible hardness across the wall thickness to the specifications of DI59-steel pipes.
