Optimization of Design of Liquid Redistributors in Packed Extractors by CFD-Analysis Methods Using Example of Liquefied Hydrocarbon Gas Demercaptanization Column

  • Published:
Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Aims and scope

The article presents an algorithm for optimizing design parameters of redistribution plates for dispersing heavy phase in a packed extractor using the example of liquefied hydrocarbon gas demercaptanization column. Several ratios of the main design dimensions at which the distribution of continuous and dispersed phases is the best under the set conditions were obtained by the method developed for assessing the uniformity of flow distribution based on CFD analysis results.
