Assessment of Human Gait Parameters Based on Accelerometry

  • Published:
Biomedical Engineering Aims and scope

A technique for assessing the biomechanical parameters of human gait has been developed. The technique can be used for rapid assessment of the state of the musculoskeletal system based on long-term accelerometer monitoring data. It is proposed to use the correlation coefficients of accelerometer signals recorded in a person walking at different paces to teach a neural network to isolate individual steps based on daily accelerography data. The developed rapid assessment technique allows characteristic signs of motor pathology to be detected by analyzing the gait parameters.
