This issue of the European Spine Journal regroups 21 papers coming from China. The topics range from basic science to diagnostics, surgical treatments and outcomes. This reflects the many submissions we get from China. It is no wonder the European Spine Journal currently counts 73 Chinese reviewers. They do excellent work helping us to see papers improve through the review process and for this we are indebted to them.

Perhaps this is the result of the efforts made by the Editorial Board of the European Spine Journal by organizing workshops on “How to best write and submit a paper” and “How to be a good reviewer” both held in Singapore in 2016 during SpineWeek. Such workshops are in line with the European Spine Journal Editorial Board giving more and more attention to Education. Active participation in London NSpine meeting and the upcoming “Meet the Experts” are other examples. Now already the European Spine Journal’s Editorial Board is preparing its participation in SpineWeek 2020, which will be held in Melbourne, Australia. More on education can be found on our website www.europeanspinejournal.org.
