The154Sm(28Si, Mg) and154Sm(16O, C) reactions atE/B∼1.6

Summary

The154Sm(28Si, Mg) and154Sm(16O, C) transfer reactions atE/B∼1.6 have been studied by means of fragment-γ-ray coincides. γ-ray spectra are dominated, for both reactions, by the yrast transitions from156,154Gd. The analysis of the energy loss spectra associated with156,154Gd, performed in the framework of a model for transfer reaction and the statical model for the sequential evaporation, suggests that the two Gd isotopes are produced by different reaction mechanisms. The analysis of γ-ray discrete lines for156Gd reveals different paths in the decay of excited primary products of the transfer reactions. The gamma-ray multiplicities are unexpectly similar for the two reactions. The complexity of the transfer processes is underlined.
