Zusammenfassung

Habit-Reversal-Training (HRT) ist sehr effektiv bei nervösen Verhaltensgewohnheiten (Daumenlutschen, Nägelkauen, Beißen auf Lippen oder Zunge, Zucken von Kopf und Schultern, Zupfen an Augenbrauen oder Körperteilen), Tics, Tourette-Syndrom und Stottern. Es nimmt an, dass derartige Probleme in Verhaltensketten eingebettet sind, durch ständige Wiederholung aufrechterhalten werden, teilweise unbewusst ablaufen und z. T. sozial toleriert werden. Mit HRT können diese Verhaltensketten unterbrochen und Gewohnheiten durch andere, bewusst ausgeführte, Verhaltensweisen ersetzt werden. Das Training besteht aus den Modulen Erhöhung der Selbstwahrnehmung, Aufbau bzw. Stärkung von Veränderungsmotivation, Competing-Response-Training sowie Generalisierungstraining zur Festigung der erreichten Fortschritte im Alltag. Ergänzend können bei Bedarf soziale Verstärkung und Entspannungstraining eingesetzt werden. Die Methode benötigt nur wenige Therapiesitzungen und wurde vielfach empirisch validiert.
