Zusammenfassung

Fettstoffwechselstörungen gehören zu den häufigsten Stoffwechselerkrankungen der westlichen Hemisphäre. Sie sind durch die Erhöhung der Plasmakonzentrationen einer oder mehrerer Lipidkomponenten definiert. Die Hyperlipoproteinämien sind ein wichtiger Risikofaktor für die Entstehung der Atherosklerose, welche die pathoanatomische Grundlage für die Entstehung der koronaren Herzerkrankung, der peripheren arteriellen Verschlußerkrankung und der ischämischen zerebrovaskulären Krankheiten darstellt.
