Abstract

Petrological study on spilite in Japan has been in progress since 1946 by SUZUKI and his co-workers. In 1954, he pointed out that the green rock layers of Jurassic age found in central Hokkaido are occasionally composed of spilitized pillow lavas. The following is a short quotation from SUZUKI (1954b).
