Abstract

We describe the main ideas used to build a fast and simple special purpose computer for studies of the Ising model with different types of inhomogeneities, such as a random bond model or a random magnetic field model [1]. Results obtained with the computer for the specific heat and magnetization of the random bond model are presented. We also discuss projects for the new special purpose computers.
