Abstract

Several laboratory devices for spatially homogeneous light application have been compared. A setup for the measurement of homogeneity has been developed which was used to characterize all the devices. Criteria have been worked out to compare these devices with respect to their biological efficiency. The results are readily applicable to Photodynamic Therapy on cell cultures. They can also be used in dermatological applications, but the dosimetry has to be reconsidered then.
