Abstract
Chronic pelvic pain is defined as inferior abdominal and/or pelvic cyclic or noncyclic pain, lasting for more than 6 months. It accounts for 10–40 % of the reasons for gynecological visits, a third of the indications for diagnostic celioscopy, and 15 % of hysterectomies.
