Time and Attendance Terminal

A time and attendance terminal is a device that is more sophisticated than a time clock. It uses electronic data capture record to record a clock-in or clock-out transaction when the employee presents an authorized credential to the clock. The credential may be an ID number, proximity card, smartcard, biometrics etc. There are three main time and attendance terminals, card or proximity-based, fingerprint, and hand geometry.
