Conclusion

Doivent être enlevés en urgence les corps étrangers obstructifs de l’hypo-pharynx et l’œsophage, les corps étrangers coupants ou tranchants compte tenu de leur possibilité de perforation dans 15 à 35 % des cas, les piles bloquées dans l’œsophage, les corps étrangers dont l’épaisseur est supérieure à 2,5 cm et la longueur supérieure à 6 cm.

Conclusion

The following foreign bodies must be urgently removed: obstructive foreign bodies in the hypopharynx and esophagus; cutting or sharp foreign bodies given the risk of perforation in 15 to 35 % of cases; batteries blocked in the esophagus; foreign bodies thicker than 2.5 cm or longer than 6 cm.
